Blog #4 - Senses and Stuff
Every time we blink, it feels instantaneous, as if we only blinked for not even a moment in time. In reality, however, our blink lasts around 100-150 milliseconds. Our eyes perceive the world upside down, but our brain flips the image upwards. On average we typically blink around 4.2 million times per year and a fun fact is that we can't sneeze with our eyes open. Our cornea is actually the only tissue in the human body that doesn't contain blood vessels. Now you know some interesting trivia facts about our eyes - an important function that allows us to perceive the world with a unique perspective.
